The Embryologist performs and interprets laboratory procedures according to established departmental procedures. This includes some, but not necessarily all, of the following:

  • Quality control applications
  • Basic andrology
  • Sperm preparation (including the microsurgical sperm preparation, media, and/or sera preparation)
  • Microscopic embryology
  • Time-Lapse microscopy
  • Complex tissue culture techniques
  • Oocyte harvest and oocyte insemination
  • Embryo replacement
  • Cryopreservation and thawing
  • ICSI
  • Selective assisted hatching
  • Preimplantation genetic testing
  • Co-culture, and other newly developed assisted reproductive laboratory techniques.

The ability to move into new procedures beyond those assigned initially is dependent on observed technique, perceived soundness of judgment, ability to work at an appropriate speed, and laboratory need.


  • Academic position in the University setting
  • Must have obtained Bachelor's, MS, or Ph.D.
  • At least five years of experience in the IVF lab
  • Must be able to work in the US
  • Available 5/1/2021+
